Is a passionate Diabetes Advocate, Educator, and the Founder of Diabetes Consciousness for Community (DICOCO), a registered Tanzanian NGO committed to raising awareness, improving access to care, and supporting people living with diabetes—especially in underserved rural communities.
She has lived with Type 1 Diabetes for over 20 years, and uses her lived experience to inspire and educate others. Lucy holds a Master’s degree in Mass Communication and a Certificate in Diabetes Nutrition and Counseling. Her work focuses on community health education, mental health, and gender inclusion in diabetes care.
Lucy is a member of the Steering Committee for the NCDI Poverty Network and serves as the Voice of the PEN-Plus Project in Tanzania. Through national campaigns like #Insulin4All and her weekly series Shuga na Lucy, she works to break stigma, promote policy change, and create accessible platforms for diabetes education.
